* # What is the Teckids e.V.? The Teckids e. V. is an association that has made it one of its goals to introduce children and young people to open source projects and to build a community among them. We also want to spread open source and free teaching materials in schools. Our two main characteristics are, on the one hand, the high level of transparency, as our work can be seen in public, and on the other hand, the fact that it is mainly children and young people who participate in it. As a junior member, they can actively participate, for example in the organization of events, but also in other association work, even in leading roles. In order to achieve our goals, we are usually represented with a stand or with a parallel running workshop at events, as well as fairs and conferences. Our workshops are organized by our junior members themselves and revolve around the topic of computer science and open source. In our work we build up a community with our free services and the children and integrate them into the events, for example in the stand support. To spread Free Software projects further in education, we work closely with schools, teachers, parents and other projects.
