This saves us a few roundtrips in the ORM, and also makes nasty hacks
juggling nested save() calling unnecessary.

Side effect: We have no way of finding out whether this is the first
login or not this way — I decided that allowing user data to get out
of sync with LDAP is an anti-pattern and removed the feature.

Improve preferences frontend by introducing rows, splitting verbose names and reordering preferences

This cna lead to name clashes, but we tolerate these in favour of apps
being allowed to properly namespace their proxy fields.

We expect it to be equal or all searches. If not, there is really
nothing that can be done for that LDAP admin.

This reverts commit 1132fc11.

Previously, the cache list was getting out of sync if some group produced an error.
